Pascal Pilon (Chairman)
Pascal Pilon has over 17 years of experience as a technology executive and entrepreneur. He currently acts as the Chairman and CEO of MixGenius, a revolutionary audio production technology company, and is also the President of YUL Ventures, a seed and growth oriented investment fund for technology companies. Prior to MixGenius, Pascal spent 14 years as CEO of Averna where he consistently generated fast and profitable growth, conceived and brought to market several new products and services, as well as opened, grew and restructured numerous lines of businesses. He has also raised over $20M in equity financing and held a central role in sourcing, negotiating and closing several M&A transactions. Pascal’s financial, technological and societal achievements have been recognized repeatedly over the last decade with various honors and awards such as Ernst & Young’s Quebec Technology Entrepreneur of the Year, Canada’s Top 40 under 40, and CEO of the year by the Quebec Technology Association. He actively supports Quebec’s emerging entrepreneurs through his involvement in Société d’investissement Jeunesse and in the Ecole d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce.
Giovanni is a successful entrepreneur and investor in the IT and telecommunications industry with an extensive track record ranging from successfully leading new ventures to senior management positions in established organizations. As founder, president & CEO, Giovanni’s most recent start-up success was Trellia Networks, a leader in Cloud based Mobile Device Management, which was acquired by Wyse Networks (now Dell). Prior to Trellia, he was co-founder & VP Product Management at Avantas Networks, which was successfully sold to EXFO. Prior to this, he was Director of Product Management at Positron Fiber Systems (PFS), which successfully IPO’d, before being acquired by Reltec Corp and Marconi PLC. Giovanni’s career kicked off at Nortel where he spent 16 years in progressively senior roles in engineering, product management & marketing.
Robert H. Michaels
Bob has a strong background in fields of emerging technology and a career spanning more than 25 years in the International arena. He has spent the past several years in C level positions in the Pro AV and Signage sectors as CEO of ZeeVee (current), President and CEO of Magenta Research and President of the Signage Division for Digital View. Prior to his involvement in the AV industry, his career was focused in the Semiconductor Equipment sector. He spent 12 years with Halma PLC, (FTSE 250) initially as President of American Tech Manufacturing (a Halma subsidiary) later relocating to Singapore where he spent 8 years as President of Halma Asia driving the start-up and growth of Asian Operations for the Group. Bob also sits on the Advisory Boards of Comqi, a leading edge provider of multi-channel message management platforms that control a network’s content and infrastructure and the Digital Screen Media Association.
A computer engineer from McGill University, Kamran has spent his professional career leading the conception, productization and commercialization of numerous AV, graphics and image processing technologies which have collectively generated over $ 1 Billion in revenues to date. His career began at Matrox Graphics where he held several leadership positions in product management and technical marketing over a period of 7 years. Following Matrox, he spent 3 years managing the North American and European sales operations for SolVision (now Zygo Canada) and then moved on to head the international sales operations at Magenta Research (now TV-one) for 3 years. In 2011, he co-founded AptoVision with a vision of transforming the AV signal distribution system by reinventing the underlying technology and has since led the AptoVision team in delivering on this vision. AptoVision was subsequently acquired by Semtech Corporation (NASDAQ: SMTC) in July 2017.
An electrical engineer from Polytechnique Montreal, Stephane has over 20 years of experience in high-speed graphics, video, FPGA and hardware design of products representing well over $1 Billion in revenue during their lifetime. He has successfully led several R&D teams and has been the individual behind the conception and execution of products which have gained worldwide attention and success in their respective markets.
Stephane’s career includes 14 years at Matrox Graphics during which he led several hardware design teams. Before co-founding AptoVision, he also held key positions at Magenta Research (Director of R&D) and Muxlab (CTO). With innovation in his DNA, Stephane holds multiple US and international patents in graphics technology.

JS Cournoyer is co-founder and General Partner with Real Ventures and Montreal Startups, Montreal-based venture capital funds investing in great entrepreneurs building world-class companies. He’s also co-founder of Founderfuel, a Montreal-based accelerator for web, mobile and software startups. JS is also an entrepreneur, having co-founded a number of companies over the years. He is the proud father of 5 wonderful children.
