Marketing Communications Specialist

As the marketing communications specialist at AptoVision, you’ll work closely with the technical marketing, sales and marketing teams to plan, organize and implement all aspects of marketing communications. Depending on the day, you’ll work on sales collateral production, media relations, advertising, tradeshows, webinars, websites, social media, co-marketing and budgeting. And, you’ll become the in-house expert on our Pardot marketing automation system and its interface to our Salesforce CRM to maximize lead generation and nurturing.

Sales materials

  • Produce and send newsletters
  • Produce brochures/datasheets – supervise creative, arrange printing
  • Produce presentations, seminar materials, speaker support materials as needed
  • Coordinate production of webinars and videos
  • Coordinate translation of sales materials into other languages as required

Web

  • Work with outside website designer to manage and maintain two websites and maximize SEO
  • Prepare analytics reports

Tradeshows (ISE, InfoComm)

  • Collaborate on all aspects of tradeshow participation – booth design, signage, show services, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Produce/implement all materials related to maximizing our exposure

Advertising

  • Develop ad placement plan – track editorial tie-ins, show distribution, CPM, CPC
  • Negotiate best deal for space
  • Supervise ad creative working with our graphics design service provider
  • Ensure all creative is delivered on time
  • Monitor advertising effectiveness
  • Monitor ad placement by competitors

Media relations

  • Follow editorial calendars – find opportunities for contributions, reviews, mentions, etc.
  • Send/post press releases
  • Monitor media mentions, prepare reports
  • Assist with social media activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • Five years’ experience in fast-paced B2B marketing communications environment; familiarity with pro AV marketplace an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; French an asset
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Above-average expertise in MS Office
  • Experience with Salesforce, Pardot or other sales and marketing automation tools an asset
